Freddy and Co play mats are made from a non-toxic TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) material. This makes the baby play mat soft and easy to clean. The padded play mat’s foam core provides cushioning to provide a soft play space. TPU is a light weight, flexible material which is durable, and our mats have passed international testing and are free from heavy metals, phthalates and formamide.

Shipping is currently Australia wide using the fastest available Courier company. We do not ship to PO Boxes. Your shipping costs will be calculated at the checkout. Additional charges apply to international sales, please contact us for a quote.

The properties of TPU play mats which make them soft and supportive to babies and young children make them susceptible to damage from sharp objects. Sharp items such as pet claws, tools, metal toys with sharp edges, stiletto heels etc. should not be used on the mat as they risk damage. Furthermore, some fading and colour change will occur over time.

Due to the soft flexible nature of your mat, sitting heavy furniture on it will cause dints in the material which may be permanent if the internal structures are damaged. We do not recommend that you place any heavy objects on your mat.

Cleaning:

As our mats are waterproof, they can easily be cleaned using a soft damp cloth. Ensure all spills and liquids are wiped up immediately as your play mat should not be left damp. While they are considered waterpoof their flexible nature means they are vulnerable to absorbing moisture if not dried (extended exposure to moisture can result in absorption/mould). For harder to clean messes such as those caused by food a mild detergent can also be used. Ensure they are dried before flipping over to clean the other side. We recommend a deep clean weekly to maximise your play mats life (read this for more information). Please do not use any abrasive chemicals or scrubbing utensils on your mat as these may cause damage.

Storage:

Due to their soft and flexible nature, Freddy and Co mats can be folded for short periods of time if required (E.g. to fit in your car for travel). However, if left folded for extended periods of time your mat may form creases which will take days to months to come out, we do not recommend storing for periods of longer than 3 days folded. For longer periods of storage time, your mat should be stored rolled, the carton provided is the best place for this. Keep the Velcro straps from the original packaging as these can be used to secure your playmat.

Colour change:

Our TPU play mats are made from non-toxic and environmentally friendly materials. Therefore as we do not use harsh chemicals to preserve colour, light coloured play mats may have yellowing along the outer seam where the sides are joined. This is not a fault and due to the non-toxic nature of the play mats. Furthermore, the non-toxic nature means additional colour change, yellowing or fading may occur over time on your playmat. We are proud of our non-toxic and environmentally friendly products and want to ensure customers are aware of these colour variations as it is not a product fault. Furthermore, our play mats are rigoursly tested for use of babies and toddlers. Warranty does not cover damage caused by incorrect use including pets, shoes, harsh cleaning products and sharp objects which can tear your play mats surface.

Our play mats come with a six month manufacturing warranty. It is important to check your play mat carefully upon opening and notify us immediately if you suspect a fault. Manufacturing faults with the print or colour should be notified within 48-hours of opening. Items with faults covered under warranty will be replaced dependent on stock availability.

We are proud to use non-toxic materials in our baby play mats. Due to this, colour change will occur over time. As they do not contain harsh chemicals to fix the colours yellowing and fading will occur. This is not a manufacturing fault of the play mat.

'Raising Children' is a contemporary Aboriginal artwork by Bigi Nagala

Raising Children: Exclusive Aboriginal baby play mat artwork:

From the artist: This artwork shows a collective community coming together to focus on rearing strong, health and happy children. The values of interdependence, group cohesion and community loyalty are key features of aboriginal and community life, where raising children is considered to be a shared responsibility of all community members. The mountains at the bottom symbolise generations of knowledge being passed down to children with stories being shared by elders who once upon a time stood in their shoes. The animal tracks in this artwork represent the importance for children to have freedom to explore and experience this wild and wonderful world, while the different sized dot work symbolises the diversity of our children and their array of varying personalities. Sheri Skele, Bigi Nagala.

Tummy time is essential from a very early age and these memory foam TPU foam baby play mats make the best tummy time mats. As your child moves through their milestones of pushing up, rolling, crawling, sitting, standing and walking. You know that your soft baby play mat provides a safe environment. With child focused designs that also suit modern family décor you are having the best of both worlds. Plus the TPU foam is non-toxic.

No two Freddy & Co play mats are the same. As our designs are manually printed (not digitally) there will be some slight variations between repeat prints within the one mat. Meaning colours may overlap, or design angles may differ slightly. This is all a normal part of the manufacturing process. This also means colours may vary between repeats and batches along your large padded play mat. You will always have a couple of repeats per mat but each mat starts at a unique point. This just makes them extra special. Also, something to note. As we have designed our play mats to be non-toxic, it means we don't add harsh chemicals. Therefore some colour change will occur over time. Please read our FAQ's for further care instructions.

Lastly, our play mats are waterproof making them easy to clean after all the fun messy play activities, no nappy time or even finger food testing.
