Easy Easter craft for little kids

Easy Easter craft for little kids

With holidays upon us I realised I don't think I've done any craft with the little two all term. So I thought I'd pull together a few easy craft ideas that will keep the little ones entertained and add a bit of Easter vibes to our home over the next two weeks.

Some of my fave quick and easy Easter ideas

Is it just me or has this year flown by? I can't believe it's April and we are already in the second quarter of the year. With holidays upon us I realised I don't think I've done any craft with the little two all term. So I thought I'd pull together a few easy craft ideas that will keep the little ones entertained and add a bit of Easter vibes to our home over the next two weeks.

5 Easter craft ideas

Hand print chicks cards

I love doing crafts involving the kids hand prints. They are one of those things that doubles as a keepsake to remember a period of time. This year the boys are making Easter cards for the Grandparents. There are so many inspiration activities around such as this one on baby chicks. But here is what we did:

  1. Take one piece of cardboard and fold into half to form the card.
  2. Paint both child's hands with yellow paint and press them on to white paper.
  3. Repeat step 2 with orange paint.
  4. Cut out all four hand prints.
  5. Draw two circles and colour them in or use yellow paper and cut them out, one large for the body and one smaller for the head.
  6. Attach the orange hand prints as feet and the yellow as wings. Use a marker pen to draw in eyes and beak.

Photo Easter bunny craft

I haven't gotten around to this one yet but it's so cute. And you can follow this link to get a printable which means all you have to do is cut out the pieces and print off a photo. You can make it beautiful and need by cutting out coloured paper or you can print off on white paper and let the kids colour/paint/decorate to their heart's content. So cute.

Easter hunt basket

Getting ready to plan our Easter egg hunt, I realised I only have one basket. Now that PJ is older (he'll be 4 in June). I don't think I'll be able to convince the boys to share any more. But at the moment I'm on a mission to declutter the house so I don't really want to buy another basket. It made me have a think about what we have lying around that we could use. After a bit of googling for inspiration I found this blog all about re-purposing and recycling to make Easter baskets and it's brilliant. So here's a pic of the boys new baskets. All made from items we found at home.

Easter crown

From the prettiest of pretty, to colouring in printables. There are so many ways to make Easter crowns. This year there  were no Easter bonnet parades at School or Kindy. Which to be honest made me a little sad. So we decided to do our own at home. And we plan to wear our crowns on Easter day for our Easter egg hunt. So here I've let both the boys colour in a printable template, plus I cut out a base for the crown each from cardboard and fitted it to their heads for some freestyle crafting too. Check our Instagram stories to see which one we end up wearing on Easter Sunday.

Fork Print Chick Craft

This one's just a bit of fun. All term I've been meaning to do some fork painting with the kids but haven't quite gotten around to it. Here is our version or you can check out this blog for the full instructions on Easter Chick painting here.
So that's it for some fun Easter craft activities for the holidays. Make sure you tag us on Instagram if you give them a go as we'd love to see them in action. And if you're looking for some of the more edible type of Easter fun, be sure to check out our Easter baking with kids blog too.
