Aussie Alphabet playmat with a coloured reverse design.

The Australian Alphabet playmat features the A-Z of Australian animals with a colourful pattern on the reverse. Freddy & Co had this unique combination of Australian Alphabet animals designed locally. This mat features the iconic Koala, Red Kangaroo, Ibis and Magpie. Children will learn to recognise these animals and engage with them in imaginative play. Most alphabet playmats on the market are not Australian specific. While, our mat celebrates Australia’s rich animal diversity.

Our Freddy & Co playmats are made from a non-toxic PU material. As there is currently no safety standards in Australia for playmats, this has been tested to both USA and EU standards. This testing has confirmed our mats are free from BPA, heavy metals and other toxins making it a safe place for your little one. For easy cleaning Freddy & Co playmats are waterproof. To keep your baby safe while exploring their world these mats are soft and padded for extra comfort. Freddy & Co playmats are perfect for your baby while they learn to push up, roll, sit, crawl and walk.

Please note: Our playmat design is a seamless print and therefore will be cut at random. No two playmats have the exact same starting point. Also due to the non-toxic nature of our playmats some colour change will occur over time.

Features

Our mats are lightweight and easy to reverse so that you can make the most of our designs. Freddy & Co playmats are also 100% waterproof which makes them easy to clean by wiping them down with a damp cloth (see our care instructions for further information).

Safety

Freddy and Co playmats are made from a non-toxic PU (Polyurethane) material. This makes the mat soft and easy to clean. PU is light weight, flexible material which is extremely durable and our mats have passed international (there are no standards in a Australia) testing and are free from heavy metals, phthalates and formaldehyde.

Cleaning

As our mats are 100% water proof they can easily be cleaned using a soft damp cloth. For harder to clean messes such as those caused by food a mild detergent can also be used. Please do not use any abrasive chemicals or scrubbing utensils on your mat as these may cause damage.

Storage

Due to their soft and flexible nature, Freddy and Co mats can be folded for short periods of time if required (E.g. to fit in your car for travel). However, if left folded for extended periods of time your mat may form creases which will take days to months to come out, we do not recommend storing for periods of longer than 3 days folded. For longer periods of storage time, your mat should be stored rolled, the cartoon provided is the best place for this.

Caring for your playmat

The properties of PU playmats which make them soft and supportive to babies and young children make them susceptible to damage from sharp objects. Sharp items such as pet claws, tools, metal toys with sharp edges, stiletto heels etc. should not be used on the mat as they risk damage. Furthermore, some fading may occur over time if your mat is in direct sunlight. Due to the soft flexible nature of your mat, sitting heavy furniture on it will cause dints in the material which may be permanent if the internal structures are damaged. We do not recommend that you place any heavy objects on your mat.
