Featuring a reversible design this baby play mat features the A-Z of Australian animals with recognisable favourites such as Kangaroos, Koalas and Ibis and introducing the lesser known Quolls and Numbats. Letters and animals help children with recognition and language development as they move from babyhood into their toddler years. The colours and texture of the mat also provide stimulation and encourage imaginative play. This is a unique custom design created here in Australia exclusively for Freddy & Co. Freddy & Co baby play mats are non-toxic. Did you know there are no safety standards for baby play mats in Australia? We do. Which is why we have had our play mats tested to international standards including EU and USA. They have passed with flying colours and are free from hidden nasties including BPA, Phthalates and heavy metals. Therefore, you can relax knowing your baby is playing on a non-toxic surface. The textured design creates a padded cushioned surface. Furthermore, the PU material makes them a soft and safe place for your baby to explore their surroundings as they push up, roll, sit, crawl and walk. Also, these baby play mats are easy to clean, light weight and reversible. To clean simply wipe them over with a damp cloth. The Australia Alphabet play mat is light weight, and therefore can be easily flipped. It is also available with a other reverse options including blue geometric design and coloured geometric design. Check out FAQ for further information on cleaning and care instructions.

Each repeat is individually printed not digitally printed. This means that colours will vary slightly between each repeat. Due the manufacturing process we are unable to determine the start point on each play mat. Therefore, not all baby play mats will start on the letter A but as there are several repeats per play mat all letters will be included. Furthermore, due to the non-toxic nature of our play mats colour change will occur to your play mat over time. The amount and timing of colour change is varied depending on exposure to heat and light.

Features

Our mats are lightweight and easy to reverse so that you can make the most of our designs. Freddy & Co playmats are also 100% waterproof which makes them easy to clean by wiping them down with a damp cloth (see our care instructions for further information).

Safety

Freddy and Co playmats are made from a non-toxic PU (Polyurethane) material. This makes the mat soft and easy to clean. PU is light weight, flexible material which is extremely durable and our mats have passed international (there are no standards in a Australia) testing and are free from heavy metals, phthalates and formaldehyde.

Shipping

Shipping is currently Australia wide using the fastest available Courier company. We do not ship to PO Boxes. To find your shipping cost, search using your postcode in the check out. Additional charges apply to international sales, please contact us for a quote.

Cleaning

As our mats are 100% water proof they can easily be cleaned using a soft damp cloth. For harder to clean messes such as those caused by food a mild detergent can also be used. Please do not use any abrasive chemicals or scrubbing utensils on your mat as these may cause damage.

Storage

Due to their soft and flexible nature, Freddy and Co mats can be folded for short periods of time if required (E.g. to fit in your car for travel). However, if left folded for extended periods of time your mat may form creases which will take days to months to come out, we do not recommend storing for periods of longer than 3 days folded. For longer periods of storage time, your mat should be stored rolled, the cartoon provided is the best place for this.

Caring for your playmat

The properties of PU playmats which make them soft and supportive to babies and young children make them susceptible to damage from sharp objects. Sharp items such as pet claws, tools, metal toys with sharp edges, stiletto heels etc. should not be used on the mat as they risk damage. Furthermore, some fading may occur over time if your mat is in direct sunlight. Due to the soft flexible nature of your mat, sitting heavy furniture on it will cause dints in the material which may be permanent if the internal structures are damaged. We do not recommend that you place any heavy objects on your mat.
